Huckberry: The 10 Best Bourbons NOT Made in Kentucky

Is it whiskey or is it bourbon? Or is bourbon a whiskey? Or is—you know what, sometimes it’s better to drink it and not get bogged down in technicalities. Other times, it’s nice to just let the experts sort through the technical aspects.

The team over at Huckberry was kind enough to provide a rundown of the best bourbons they could find around the good ole USA that aren’t made in Kentucky… and we were lucky enough to have our Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey on that list.

“This Tennessee whiskey, er bourbon, resurrects owners Andy and Charlie Nelson’s family recipe, one they claim has not been used commercially since 1909 if you believe their marketing materials. True or hooey, their wheated bourbon recipe is filtered through sugar maple charcoal creating a whiskey redolent of cinnamon sugar-covered apples with just a hint of cocoa.”
